❖ As long standing cough in any habitual smoke of uses of Chula should be investigated for COPD.

Investigations :-

Functional evaluation of Respiratory system is done by PFT (Pulmonary function test)

❖ XRIPA - HRCT Thorax

Symptoms of COPD :-

❖ Chronic (long standing) Cough with or without sputum production.
> ❖ Decrease functional capacity judged by short of breath an exertion.

Treatment & prevention of acute attack :-

❖ Inhalation therapy :-
1)MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler)
2)Rotacaps
3)Nebulized
❖ Oral Bronchodilators
❖ Immunization for Respiratory infections such as :-
1.Flu Immunization
2.pneumococcal Immunization

Asthma :-

❖ Reversible Obstruction of small airways in lung is known as Asthma.
❖ Asthma has familial predisposition
❖ Onset occurs in childhood

Symptoms :-

❖ Most of the childhood asthma presents as sudden onset on Breathlessness.
❖ There acute episodes of Breathlessness are triggered by
1.some allergence
2.viral infection
3.whether changes

Diagnosis :-

Diagnosis is based on history as well as PFT (Pulmonary function test)

Restrictive Lung disease

Lung Infections:-
1.Community Acquired pneumonia :-

❖ High grade fever Consolidation
❖ Cough sputum of Chest X ray
❖ Short of breath

Causes :-

1. Bacterias
2. Virus

Functions :-

❖ Sometimes it is life threatening condition due to Respiratory failure and multiorgan failure.
